Almost every entrepreneur starts out as a small business, and they understand and face all the challenges that SME’s have on a day to day basis. As their businesses grow, most remember that time and the lessons they learnt, and their companies are better for it. Most entrepreneurs I know are people experts. Why? Because they have had to convince people to buy from them / work with them / work for them / supply to them. Lastly, entrepreneurs know the full facts about ownership, and they understand the value of the business they have built. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 16.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;A high personal drive is critical to achievement in that it’s one’s personal drive and determination that turns dreams into reality, converts ideas into action and then it’s from this action that the desired results will be achieved (eventually)!&amp;nbsp; It’s also this drive and determination that: keeps you and your project on course when the desired results or your goal(s) take longer to achieve; or things get tough; or even when you suffer the inevitable set back or failure.&amp;nbsp; Of course, success is often also related to a complete (to the exclusion of everything else) focus on the achievement of the particular result or goal(s).&amp;nbsp; As an entrepreneur and/or leader, it’s often your personal drive and determination that sets the tone for those around you, helping push the organisation and/or project forward towards achieving the desired vision and goal(s).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 16.0px; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;I believe that we all have some form of personal drive. Some people focus on obtaining educational degrees, others building a family, some starting and succeeding in business and others something completely different.&amp;nbsp; However, the key to any enhancement of a person’s drive seems often to be where extrinsic motivational factors are found in the goals that they’re attempting to achieve, such as wealth creation, business reputation and prestige. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 16.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 14.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;I’ve often been asked where my drive come from?&amp;nbsp; I’m not exactly sure!&amp;nbsp; My mother and father tell me, that as a child and teenager, I was always on the go, had high energy and low threshold of boredom.&amp;nbsp; Nothing’s changed then!&amp;nbsp; My father even went as far as saying that I didn’t know how to relax (until recently).&amp;nbsp; Perhaps my drive comes from watching and copying my always busy parents, based on the premise that ‘monkey see, monkey do!’&amp;nbsp; Or is it from learning through sport that only the brave and hard working usually win? Was it a strive for wealth creation and a better way of live?&amp;nbsp; Is it a fear of failure? font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;you need to surround yourself with quality people!&amp;nbsp; If you fly with the crows you're likely to be shot.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;you should ensure you have good counsel - NEDs and best experts &amp;amp; today’s man rather than yesterday’s.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;if you get out-with chartered territory you become exposed to external elements and unforeseen factors&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;it was essential that you maintain values and common sense&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;you need to learn to trust your gut!&amp;nbsp; Plus, if it looks too good it normally is!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;there are days, months or years when things don’t happen for you.&amp;nbsp; font-family: Arial;"&gt;It’s not just about attitude &amp;amp; behaviours, or is it?"), I&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;advised them that unfortunately there were no short cuts, magic bullets or special pills that could be taken and that:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="color: #333233; font: 13.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;they needed to be be prepared to, &amp;amp; serve a broad &amp;amp; varied Apprenticeship in business&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;there is no substitute for hard work. If it was easy, everyone would do it!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;they need to keep their eyes and ears open for opportunities - looking for gaps in the market or problems that can be solved or things made better?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;they should ideally look for low capital intensive and highly cash generative opportunities&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;persistence &amp;amp; patience are crucial. It won’t happen quickly&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;sometimes imagination is more important than knowledge&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;building personal networks is key&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;they have to get good with financials &amp;amp; cash management&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; font: 12.0px 'Trebuchet MS'; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;they need to keep learning and stretching themselves&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #444444;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;and finally in the words of Bill Cullen I advised them that “Your future just doesn’t happen. It’s how you deal with these and recover. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"&gt;A perfect example of this is how&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"&gt;Rory McIlroy was earlier this year able to deal with, and recover from, a horrible final day at the US Masters to then win the US Open a few weeks later by a considerable margin.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li style="color: #444444; One of the questions I was asked to address in my presentation, in addition to describing my entrepreneurial journey (so far), was "What’s entrepreneurship all about? &amp;nbsp;In summary, I believe it's about:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="color: #444444; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;I was recently interviewed by Michelle Rodger of the Scotland on Sunday about my thoughts and experience of management buy-outs (MBO’s).&amp;nbsp; Over the last decade, I have been involved in both leading and advising on a number of MBO’s and /or management buy-in’s (MBI’s).&amp;nbsp; The most significant of which was the MBO (in 2003) of The RGIT Montrose Group, a leading provider of HSE &amp;amp; specialist training solutions to the international Oil &amp;amp; Gas Industry.&amp;nbsp; One of the questions Michelle asked was, “What are the key success factors for taking the business forward after an MBO?”&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 15.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;I believe that the key success factors for a MBO are largely the same for any other entrepreneurial opportunity.&amp;nbsp; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;I was recently interviewed by Michelle Rodger of the Scotland on Sunday about my thoughts and experiences of management buy-outs (MBO’s).&amp;nbsp; Over the last decade, I have been involved in both leading and advising on a number of MBO’s and /or management buy-in’s (MBI’s).&amp;nbsp; The most significant of which was the MBO (in 2003) of The RGIT Montrose Group, a leading provider of HSE &amp;amp; specialist training solutions to the international Oil &amp;amp; Gas Industry.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 15.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;One of the questions Michelle asked was, “What did I think the benefits of a MBO were over other entrepreneurial opportunities?”&amp;nbsp; My answers to this question were:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 15.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;The good thing about an MBO compared to many other entrepreneurial opportunities is the fact that there is an existing business with trade, customers, contracts, resources, IP etc. &amp;nbsp;It's not a standing start!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;You should also know the company / business well including the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;You will know the staff, customers, suppliers, bank and other stakeholders and hopefully they will know you and be prepared to back you!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;You will hopefully know where the skeletons are, where you can make cuts, change things and make improvements.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;A MBO provides continuity to the staff and market.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li style="color: #333233; font: 13.0px Arial; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px color: #000000;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"&gt;An MBO also provides (some of) the Management Team with job security. Are you prepared for the incredibly long hours, considerable hard work, the challenges, the big sacrifices, the stresses and strains that setting up and building your business can bring?&amp;nbsp; Are you a winner? Do you have the drive and determination to succeed or are you someone who gives up at the first hurdle? Do you have a compelling vision and the ability to persuade others of it's merits? That includes (in a business selling context), your company, it’s products and/or services, the markets or industries that the company operates within, it’s existing and prospective customers, the competition and what differentiates your company and your “offer”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; There is no substitute for and no shortcut to gaining the necessary background information on: the target company and the key players (decision makers, shapers or blockers); what the target business needs, wants or desires are; and how your “offer” addresses or exceed these, including how you can differentiate your “offer” from the competition.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; This will also help with the research and you may even be able to road-test your “offer” prior to the main “pitch”.&amp;nbsp; It is always easier to make a pitch to a friendly face or faces!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;Once you’ve done the research and developed connections with the target, you need to develop a pitch strategy, game plan and script, as the SAS would say, "proper preparation and planning prevents pxxx poor performance" (the 7Ps) .&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;The “pitch” needs to be concise, to the point and you need to ensure that it&amp;nbsp;is tailored and / or personalised to both the target and key players - How can you transform their business, help deliver their business objectives and address any concerns or personal needs of the key players. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;If there are more than one person delivering the pitch then you also need to be clear on roles / parts that each undertake, and how the interfaces will work.&amp;nbsp; Then it comes down to practice, practice, practice! “The more I practice the luckier I get” Gary Player (legendry South African golfer).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;When actually making the “pitch”, remember that the first few minutes are critical and that first impressions really do count!&amp;nbsp; If you get off to a bad start it is very difficult to recover.&amp;nbsp; Experienced “pitchers” will have a number of openings that they can choose depending on the circumstances or audience.&amp;nbsp; Whilst you should always maintain and demonstrate complete professionalism, you should at the same time, try and create a personable atmosphere that softens and begins the connection process with the target(s).&amp;nbsp; A trick I use is to warmly shake everyone’s hands and make eye contact when I first meet the target(s). I would also urge you not to over-rely on technology or at least have a back-up and paper copies!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Tahoma; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; Behaviour</title><content type='html'>&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Be rigorous with your Time! You’ve suddenly got even more to do and potentially more urgent and vital, so you need to focus and be ruthless with your time, time wasters and unnecessary (even if nice to do) tasks. Delegate everything that is not in the urgent and vital action list(s). You also need to plan! As they say “If you fail to plan…You plan to fail”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Every pound is a prisoner! Remember, it’s your money or at least a large chunk of it! Do you need to spend it or spend it now? Can you use the resources you already have (Blue Peter style). Insist that all purchases require your authorisation for the foreseeable future whilst cash is tight! Equally do the same with purchase invoices! You’ll be surprised how this tightens things up and changes the culture!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Cut deeper than you think possible! It’s always better to cut deeper and have to rebuild, than have to cut several times!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Inform &amp;amp; involve your staff, suppliers etc so that they understand. As the Chinese proverb goes… “Tell me and I shall forget, Show me and I may remember, Involve me and I will understand” It’s essential that everyone is on board and pulls in the same direction!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Stay Positive Yourself! Avoid &amp;amp;/or eliminate the emotive &amp;amp; opinionative “Doom and Gloomers”. You simply don’t have the time and they can be a great drain on your strength and time.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Deal with the Underperformers! If there was ever a time, now is the time to deal with the underperformers, time waters, the disorganised and less effective. There is no room for passengers!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Think the unthinkable! In these times sometimes conventional solutions just won’t provide the radical solution that may be required! You may have to completely rethink the business model, processes and systems.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;You need to dig deep, emotionally and physically! These are tough times, tougher than may have seen before! It’s the old adage, ..only the strong(est) will survive! However, be careful you don’t burn yourself out!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Create some space from outside pressures! You need to ensure that your family and friends understand the challenges you face and the pressure you are under (without scaring them completely), so that they can support you rather than adding to you worries and stress!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Don’t be scared to ask for help! Put the ego to one side! We all need help at times, and we know it, but are often too proud or stubborn! There are a lot of people (e.g. friends, family, associates, contacts, Entrepreneurial Exchange members etc) who will have some knowledge, experience and /or ability and are willing to help! Help yourself by asking! They can only say no!
